

The game has a distinct cyberpunk design and aesthetic, with many of the enemies you face being cyberized monstrosities, even Shadow himself while not directly questioning his existence is a unique foil to the threats you encounter. While the plot and story aren’t initially too intriguing, and I wish more was done on that part, Cyber Shadow has many secrets in its levels that shed more light on why Shadow has undergone cyber ninja training and how he finds himself in such a bleak future. As a veteran of these titles, and some of the earliest games I’ve ever played, Cyber Shadow was a refreshing breath of fresh air and a call back to what made those games popular, with a modern technological advancement. Cyber Shadow is a Metroidvania side-scrolling action platformer with strong elements inspired by classic games of Contra and the original Ninja Gaiden.
